It used to be common knowledge in consciousness circles that a person needed to be grounded both energetically and physically. People would talk about what foods helped them feel the most grounded, how spending time in nature helped them ground their meditative experiences and so on. However, I have noticed a trend in the last few years where people are getting very ungrounded, and are even encouraging others to engage "spiritual" practices that are very ungrounding. (Spell check says "ungrounding" is not a word, but I say that it is. 🙂 )
Two of the adverse consequences of being ungrounded are that it can cause a person to be too easily swayed by the opinions of others, as well as be fooled by any of the many deceptions in our world. These are reason enough to put a consistent, daily focus on being fully present in your body and powerfully grounded to Earth's core. I could go on and on about the pitfalls and dangers of being spacey, ungrounded, partially out of body, etc but I will leave that aside in the interests of keeping this article short.
First, Get Into Your Body!
Many people are chronically partially out of their body due to a variety of conditions, some of which include: unhealed past physical or emotional traumas, living out of contact with the earth (cities, apartments, etc), doing "out of body" meditations, excessive daydreaming, unwillingness to confront the darker aspects of the subconscious mind, excessive use of alcohol or other drugs, over-consumption of television and other forms of digital entertainment, too much "cleansing" / calorie-restrictive dieting, and more.
The "Higher Self Meditation" in the Self-Clearing System puts a focus on bringing your own Inner Light back down into your body because most people are literally floating above themselves energetically. A repeated focus on seating your energy in your heart center helps you to be truly IN your body. Keep in mind that the "Higher" Self is only deemed that because so much of our Sovereign Self is floating above the body instead of residing within it.
Being fully present in the body can take a while, depending on how habitually disconnected and ungrounded a person has been in their life. Centering our energy in our heart center is the first, most basic step to restoring our full presence in the body, so that we can then get grounded.
Get Your Feet On the Ground
Even if you live in a dense urban environment, there will be parks and other places where some nature still exists. Seek out those places and put your bare feet onto the grass, dirt, sand, etc. While you're there with your feet on the ground, do the simple grounding meditation below and walk around for a bit.
This one is so simple that many people totally overlook it, or they prefer to plug in a "grounding pad" and call it a day. I have nothing against grounding (aka "earthing") devices, but they cannot replace the value of being barefoot on the ground. Swimming in natural bodies of water, walking barefoot on the beach and hiking in natural settings are also good ways to directly, energetically connect to the earth. If you are hiking in boots, stop often and touch a tree or plant with your bare hands.
Connect Your Heart to the Heart of the Planet
Through the process of energetically connecting our heart to the heart of the planet, we get deeply grounded in a very powerful, stable way. To me, this is the most potent form of grounding, although it works best when used in conjunction with the above steps. However, don't let the fact that you are in a high rise building, or that it is too cold outside to put your bare feet on the ground stop you from doing the simple process described below. It can be done anywhere, even if you are flying in an airplane.
Before we get to the process, I want to mention the curving energy lines used here. While it is more simple to visualize a straight line of energy, I have learned that curving lines of energy are more natural and more aligned with our foundational reality as Sovereign extensions of Source than straight lines of energy, which tend to be more mechanistic and synthetic.
Again, I could go on at length here, but I will keep it brief and use a picture to serve as a visual aid for this concept.
My Simple, Daily Grounding Focus.
• Close your eyes and take some slow, deep breaths. Center yourself in the present moment.
• Focus on your heart and visualize the energy of your Sovereign Inner Self growing large and bright.
• Send a beam of gently curving energy out of the left side of your chest that goes downward into the earth.
• Visualize this energy gently curving in a long elliptical arc, eventually connecting into the left side of Earth's core.
• As you make this connection to Earth's core, mentally (or out loud) say to the Earth, "Hello and thank you for supporting my human experience." (It can be anything with heartfelt gratitude.)
• Visualize another curving line of energy emanating from the right side of Earth's core, gently curving up to eventually connect into the right side of your chest.
• Spend a few moments enjoying the feeling of connecting and synchronizing your heart center to the heart of the planet.
• State your intention to keep yourself fully, deeply grounded and connected into Earth's core.
• Open your eyes and go on about the rest of your day in this deeply grounded state.
I highly recommend that you repeat this several times during the day whenever you have a spare moment. It only takes a couple of minutes, and with practice over time you will be able to maintain this connection throughout your day. Even if you are 20 stories up off the ground in an apartment or office building, you can still do this simple process. In fact, it is even more important to do so in that type of environment than if you're a woodland hobbit kind of person like me.
Grounding Physical Exercises
Ideally, when you are walking, standing or sitting barefoot on the grass (and after you have connected your heart center to the heart of the planet), you can do some physical exercise that will help you get more connected to your body. Again though, if you can't be in direct contact with the ground, you can still do some grounding physical exercise. This can be just about anything that you like to do, provided that it does not make you feel "spacey" or too light-headed.
For example, those who are familiar with a set of exercises called the "Five Rites" could do those movements, but I strongly recommend that you omit the first spinning movement, at least for a while. This is because spinning can create a spacey, out of body feeling, especially in a person that is already ungrounded. Do the other exercises first for a while, then slowly, very slowly, add in a little bit of spinning. Just make sure to ground yourself after the spinning portion, and if it takes too long, do less spinning (or none) next time.
If you are into yoga, do a combination of easy and mildly-challenging movements, but omit any extended pranayama at first, for the same reasons as omitting the spinning. If you are not into any of the above, just do some planks, push-ups, bodyweight squats, go hiking, or anything else you enjoy doing, making sure that you stay within your body's limitations. Pushing the body too hard while exercise can also be ungrounding, so if you feel your body asking for a rest, then rest! 🙂
A Grounding Diet
While I don't think a "perfect diet for all humans" actually exists, I have found that incorporating organic root vegetables and organic greens into a calorie-dense diet can help with efforts to get fully into the body and be grounded. The root vegetables are pretty self-explanatory, they grow underneath the ground, and they help pass along some of that groundedness to us when we eat them.
Greens are grounding due to their mineral content, but I must stress the importance of combining root vegetables and greens with calorie-dense foods. Any type of caloric restriction can be very ungrounding for a person, even when the diet is high in micronutrients, so it is important to have both micronutrient density and caloric density in one's diet.
This means eating things like rice, potatoes, sweet potatoes (hey, those are root vegetables, too!), avocados, eggs, coconut oil, butter, other dairy products and (real) honey regularly. It can even mean having some ice cream once in a while (yay!). Organic is always preferable, but don't stress out over having a perfect diet, as that stress is worse than eating non-organic food.
Also, put as much (natural) salt on your food as you want. Salt could take up a whole article on its own, but the short version is that natural, minimally processed salt is good for you, so don't restrict it. (Himalayan salt, Redmond "Real" salt, Celtic sea salt, etc.)
Just for clarity: Please do NOT just eat root vegetables and greens, because you will not have enough caloric density to support a strong metabolism, and you will end up ungrounded, hungry and feeling cold all the time without sufficient calories. For those of you who eat meat, try to get organic / grass-fed whenever possible. Those of you who don't eat meat will need to make sure you are getting plenty of calories from other sources.
Awareness is the Key
The main key to being energetically present in your body and grounded is awareness and being conscious of how you feel as you move through life. These are a few indicators that you are not fully present in your body and ungrounded: Feeling spacey, difficulty focusing on one task, easily losing track of conversations when others are talking, misplacing your keys/phone/spouse/child/dog/etc, poor coordination, forgetting something that happened just moments ago, etc.
If you notice any of those things happening, or anything else specific to you that you know is an indication of being unpresent / ungrounded, get tuned into your Sovereign Self via your heart center and connect your heart to the planet's heart via the simple process above.
If you can incorporate the physical grounding practices into your daily life as much as possible and do your energetic grounding work, you will notice many positive benefits including an increase in your capacity for holding and utilizing energy in your body. This will allow you to do more intense types of energy-work without getting ungrounded in the process.

Bipolar (Mental Conditions) is a form of twist in ones Emotional Balance, you would have to look into Voices, Imagery, Own Fears, Your Past, and your current reality. Now, it’s a complicated issue, over thinking can cause excessive anxiety, breathing and normal exercises help you to ground and clear this down, but basically get in contact with your inner child, it will show you your fears and how you were treated as a child, some imagery suffered by bipolar people are externally induced, Confront voices(thoughts) without fear and learn about where they come from but not too aggressively, we have things called Trauma feedback loops… basically the differing stages of growing up throughout the years has caused this, child believes one thing, adult believes another thing means you are out of alignment, which twists the brain/body messages somewhat, it’s about being brutally honest with yourself if you need to cure bipolar/borderline disorders (there is no such thing as mental illness, your soul/heart center will tell you this so will Cameron. Fight it with compassion, understanding and get ready to feel your anger and other feelings trapped in, express it, clear it and move on daily…. it hurts but healing is healing, healing means trying to feel fully what bothers you and releasing it, sexual frustration, frustration in general can clog our bodies, energies get trapped within our bodies and we tend to hide out pain…. Most people will deny we have pain but look inside your heart, contact your inner child and find out, this will put you on the path to healing, time patience and acceptance of self is a must no matter what you have done….. TV/Films/Rubbish Beliefs all sit on top of our beauty, but in between accept what you find and clear the rest, films energetically can be cleared and freed out of us…. People will say how, just ask your true self with want and will and the universe as a witness (Do not reach up for it, it as it’s un-grounding your true self will do the rest) Grounding is the best way through any fear, learn the fear, accept it, embrace it, work with it if you can’t clear it…

Re the BiPolar question. I’ve sort of worked out a theory of my own, just my own ideas – you could say it is ungroundedness within the personality. There was a problem with the personality anchoring early on (in childhood) – there were opposing forces (psychological) that didn’t allow the personality to ground itself, you could say. Similar for all the personality disorders, but with different flavours for the others.
An example might be – a strong energy around the child that says ‘You can do anything, you are amazing…or super duper energies surrounding the child, like celebrity, or being a prodigy…..& then there also being equal energies around that disavow all that…’You can’t do anything’ or being totally ignored by a parent, or very much undermined in some way (maybe by a sibling)….or it might be outside influences….very scary dangers around, like war or big problems of some kind that directly influence the child. It could also be outside abuse. So the extremes are too much for the forming personality to anchor…so they manifest as extreme swings in later life. This is just a thumbnail.
As I said, just my own ideas, from my own inner work & also observing/researching some others that identify as BiPolar.
The Bipolar issue is a big one, bear in mind that there are many fake realities around, there are beings that will encourage you to trip into a day dream then enter your day dream if they can, bad thought forms could be another issue in crowded places…. Humans can carry many realities with them apparently, hence we can go into a full blown day dream that the mental health services call a hallucination, it’s a dream into a different reality, there are things around that people should know about but do not as the mainstream Media – Are all hallucinating over power and money etc :-). Staying grounded for me is not watching any TV or listening to ANY radio…. You are your own star, you are your own light use your own creativity to fill your days…..
Bipolar will go away slowly with work and passion/desire to heal, work yourself out, know yourself, get used to feeling your feelings fully as you can and releasing any pent up energies of the past, once you truly go inside yourself you will find an amazing world but be careful of some imagery that can be externally influenced by external ‘garbage’ beings.
I suffered badly they got hold of me when I was a child and which added to my own abuse, they promise the child things and get them to do things, what people would discredit as oh you had imaginary friends then? well question everything with discernment.

Your article is very affirming for me. I do this daily and as often as possible. I have just become a grandmother and with my week old baby, I sit quietly holding her as she is asleep and I make sure both of us are grounded in this manner. It produces a most wonderful field for both of us. Then it is an easy matter to simply go into heart breathing presence. What a joyous gift this is.

I’m in such gratitude that Cameron shared this knowledge. I’ve been practicing self-healing using my own visualization techniques and Cameron’s method add much needed depth to my understanding. Regardless, during these years of self-healing or cleansing my energies, I would always regurgitate. Not vomit out food(sometimes) but it’s like that of when one get nauseated, that kind but much more intense. I believed that this regurgitation is a form of releasing lower energies or entities in which I could be possessed(ungrounded-ness, leaving the body open to such). Please, can anyone affirm my theory or had experience such states?.

I cannot ground myself in the ways you suggest, simply because I strongly feel I don’t belong here and don’t wish to tie my spirit to 3D Earth. No doubt I’m here in the physical for a reason, and I hope I’m doing my bit, but once this physical life is over, I just want to go Home … and this ‘reality’ is not Home.
Yes, I can be a bit spacey, but I’d rather be like that than pedantic and sure of my beliefs. I think one can be spacey but still committed to being/doing the right thing for the planet and humankind. My allegiance is to Creator and grounding to this planet seems counter-productive to that relationship.

Re Earthing equipment. I was using it and with sheet on bed and cord out window with steel peg into ground.
I’ve thrown it out now. Due to repeated ‘unwellness’, I had energies of property/house checked, and due to a death of earlier owner on property who died after long years of depression, also early day killing of Aboriginal people on this hill top,energy ‘impressions’ were still here. These were coming in through the grounding cord into my bed.
After I removed the grounding equipment I was better by the day !
Nothing like oneness with Mother Nature !…and her big heart.

I am new to practicing crystal healing but not so new to new age stuff. Tonight I had a dream in which I started to float away with my feet in the air and head down. I was fighting to stay on the ground but couldn’t. I felt like a goldfish with air bladder. Meanwhile, I couldn’t breathe (in real life as well, which led my hubby to shake me awake from my gasps) and my whole body (in my dream) was screaming at me to get my hematite gemstone. The moment I woke up it was the one word I was able to say and lo and behold it helped! I didn’t even know what hematite was for and have never been called to it before. Obviously I need to do more grounding exercises, but I can’t be the only one with a dream like this, can I? Thoughts would be appreciated! (This was the first and only time I’ve had a dream like this).

take care of yourself, the sun helps I don’t ground a lot because you never know what’s under there but I do love trees, the ankle bitters pray on your fears so don’t let them. We are sovereign they recently have been messing with my unconscious I pity that behavior. They are dumb and hopefully one day they will understand. If you are staging this whole sh*t you will burn in hell.

I’m Josephine from Italy. I’ve just read your article and, once again, I realize how we are all connected in a cosmic, huge web, following the same waves of awareness and feeling the same will to be masters of our physical and spiritual life…!
I’ve just taken part in a conference about the relationship between eating habits and spirituality/awareness. How fundamental it is not to eat food that intoxicates us, provoking terrible consequences in our intestines (that are our second brain): gluten, sugars, dairy products, meat or fish can be poisonous… Eating gluten-free cereals, organic greens and seeds( mostly pumpkin and sunflower seeds, together with vitamin D3)would be the best way to keep our physical and spiritual health…! Everything so interesting and true… and I’m also trying to put in practice these suggestions. And yet I felt that something is missing in this wonderful picture. That all this can’t become a sort of threatening dilemma! I’ve always been a rebel against any orthodoxy that can make you a slave…I’ve always felt myself as a free soul engaged in a free research and ready to welcome any advice that my True Self feels good or fit to its evolution. But in LIGHTNESS, JOY and DETACHMENT!!! And then,in the right time, you wrote your article to help me reset all information and add new ones. Of which the most important,to me, is trying to be always grounded and connected to Mother Earth! What I already used to do, going to the core of the planet that I visualized as a sun in which I entered to recharge myself. But you gave me a wonderful quick method to connect to the earth in any moment, and I thank you for this. I hope my English is understandable.

I have done yoga and meditation, but struggle with getting a daily routine.Besides my present reality is under the influence of 2diagnosis, a sleeping disorder called cataplexy (part of narcolepsy) and pdd-nos (autism, which in my eyes overlaps with HSP). I pick up others energies way too easy.. it drains me.
Grounding is a very necessary basis. Anything else i should look into (within myself)..?

I can stay there, seating at a table, barefoot, and noone notice. I am doing all the revoking of agreements in there. I have a question. I started doing yoga rexently and it brings up a lot of old memmories. Since I started I feel more depressed then normal and I think there are certain thoughts that are trying to come to the surface but they only get shown to me as scary faces. I think its just my own personal demons manifesting themselves in a way I don’t fully understand. I want to face my issues I’m just not sure where they stem from. Will grounding excersises numb these issues I have and push them down into my energectic systems. or will they help me release them?
